Troy Wandzel was born in Golden Valley, Minnesota, and is currently living in Savannah, Georgia. A multidisciplinary artist, he exhibits nationally and internationally, including at Sotheby’s Auction Houses. Initially a portrait painter focusing on painting from life, Troy has completed multiple public art projects and has now shifted his focus to sculpture.

Self-portraiture is a primary element within his work, originating from life painting and the moments between models. Through the process of repetitiously painting/sculpting the same subject from life, the constant inclusion of self-portraiture has revealed a greater understanding of representation of self.
