Comic Feature by Anna Maconochie
Anna Maconochie was born and raised in London, where she still lives. After working for several years within the film industry and for the BBC, she began writing short stories that touched on these settings as well as her home city. Her stories first appeared in The Erotic Review and then several other print and online magazines, including The Dublin Review and The Bitter Oleander. One of her stories was included in Desire: 100 of Literature’s Sexiest Stories (Head of Zeus, 2016), which was compiled by Mariella Frostrup. Her first published short story collection is titled Only the Visible Can Vanish (Cultured Llama, 2016).
Over the past few years, Maconochie has continued to write while also turning her hand to illustration, art, and cartooning. Her artwork has appeared on Grayson’s Art Club, and her cartoons were included in Trauma: Essays on Art and Mental Health, an anthology of essays about mental health (Dodo Ink, 2021).
